Fodors Travel Guide -
This famous converted 18th-century convent
offers spectacular views in the heart of ancient
Rome. The Roof-Garden Restaurant overlooks the
Fori Imperiali, with the Foro Romano, the Colosseum,
and the Palatine Hill in the near distance.
All amenities have been carefully provided and
the walnut-paneled interiors are tastefully
accented with period antiques. The bathrooms
have been restyled using antique decorated tiles.
80 rooms. Restaurant, 2 bars, parking (fee).

DONE THAT: When in Rome,
stay at the Hotel Forum
November 10, 2002
Greetings: We recently returned
from a trip to Rome and were highly impressed
with our stay in the Hotel Forum.
Once a convent, the superior first-class hotel
offers amenities such as charming guest rooms,
turndown service, modern bathrooms, rooftop
dining with a great breakfast buffet, outdoor
and indoor American-style bars and a helpful,
friendly staff.
Best of all, the hotel is right across the
street from the ruins of the Roman Forum and
a five-minute walk to the Colosseum and Coloseo
subway stop.
Travelers looking for a quiet hotel in the
midst of a noisy city will be very glad they
checked in. Fall special pricing runs about
$200 a night.

Frommer's Rome
There is one and only one reason to stay at
the Forum: the view. And oh what a view it
is; one can imagine arias written about it.
The hotel is located directly across from
the Foro Romano, also known as the Roman Forum,
and is practically within spitting distance
of the Colosseum and Palatine. Admittedly
the Forum is mostly ruins these days, but
still: how often can you say you slept mere
yards away from the heart of ancient Rome?

JP Moser's Guide to Hotels
and Chateaus
The location is privileged, walking
distance from: the three Forums (Romano, Trajano
and Di Nerva), the Campidoglio, the Monumento
Vittorio Emanuele and the Coliseum. One of the
most attractive features of Hotel Forum is the
roof top restaurant, from where you can enjoy
a wonderful uninterrupted view of most of the
places of interest mentioned. And during dinner,
they have live music every night. You can also
have breakfast at this roof top restaurant and
enjoy the marvelous morning view of Rome. The
rooms at Hotel Forum are those of an old hotel,
but fitted with most of the modern comforts.
